Supporting the Explorer Scouts Relaunch: How Scouts used Brand iQ to Bring a New Brand to Life
When Scouts announced the relaunch of Explorer Scouts, it marked an exciting new chapter for the programme, introducing a refreshed visual identity, new programme resources and an updated brand designed to inspire a new generation of Explorers. However, a successful brand relaunch is about more than creating a new identity. The challenge is ensuring that thousands of volunteers across local groups throughout the UK can consistently access, understand, and use the latest resources.
As an existing Brand iQ client, The Scout Association already had a dedicated brand platform in place. This provided a strong foundation for the Explorer relaunch, enabling new assets, updates, and resources to be prepared, organised, and rolled out efficiently through an established digital hub.
Bringing Explorer Resources Together
A major brand relaunch involves a wide range of materials, from visual assets and brand guidelines to everyday resources used by teams and volunteers. Through Brand iQ, the Scouts updated its platform with a complete collection of Explorer section resources, creating a central destination where users could access the latest approved materials whenever they needed them.
The platform was updated with:
New Explorer Brand Guidelines
Updated Explorer Logo Assets
New Imagery and Visual Resources
Posters and Editable Templates
Logo Generation Tools
Videos and Supporting Content
Updated Badges and Certificates
By bringing these resources together in one organised location, volunteers can quickly find, download and use the correct materials to support the new Explorer identity.
Empowering Local Explorer Units
While the Scouts have a strong national identity, local groups play a vital role in bringing the organisation to life within their communities.
Tools such as the logo generator and ready-to-use templates give Explorer Units the flexibility to create their own communications while remaining aligned with the wider Scouts brand.
This balance between consistency and flexibility helps volunteers spend less time searching for resources and more time focusing on what matters most, creating great experiences for young people.
Supporting Long-Term Brand Management
The Explorer Scouts relaunch demonstrates the importance of having the right tools in place to support brand adoption at scale.
The Scouts' Brand iQ platform continues to support the ongoing management and rollout of brand assets, helping teams and volunteers stay connected to the latest resources as the organisation continues to evolve.
By providing a central, accessible source of truth for brand materials, Bramd iQ helps ensure that the new Explorer identity can be delivered consistently across the Scouts community.
