Net Zero Journey
Freya Millward-Harris

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change states that Net Zero is the internationally agreed-upon goal for mitigating global warming by 2050. It is defined by reducing greenhouse gas emissions to a small number of residual emissions, before purchasing carbon removal credits to offset those residual emissions.
Partnering with Ecologi
Brand iQ has taken action to partner with Ecologi, supporting a robust, science-led approach to climate action. Rather than just planting trees, Ecologis’ approach involves combining emissions measurement, reduction planning, carbon finance and ongoing reporting.
We measure our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions using Ecologis Carbon Accountants to provide an accurate baseline and identify the sources of emissions to target for reduction. This allows us to clearly identify where emissions are generated across our operations and supply chain, enabling us to prioritise meaningful reductions before offsetting any remaining emissions.
Measuring What Matters
By capturing emission data, we can:
Understand and track emissions year-on-year
Identify the most significant sources of environmental impact
Set informed reduction targets
Monitor progress with accountability and transparency
This data-led approach ensures our Net Zero strategy is focused on reduction first, with carbon removal used only where emissions cannot yet be eliminated.
A climate project that Brand iQ has supported by partnering with Ecologi is the Protection of Forests in Paraguay. The Gran Chaco is South America’s second-largest forest, spanning twice the size of California. The trees within store tens of millions of tons of CO2; this project aims to halt deforestation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by conserving these at-risk forest areas, as well as protecting the rich biodiversity within.
Responsible Materials and Supply Chain
Brand iQ is also FSC® certified. Our materials come from forests managed responsibly by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Trees that are harvested in FSC-certified forests are managed to the highest environmental, social and economic standards, ensuring biodiversity protection, fair treatment of workers and long-term forest health.
For every tree harvested in an FSC-certified forest, trees are either replanted or allowed to regenerate naturally. FSC certification is endorsed by respected environmental organisations, including WWF and The Woodland Trust, reinforcing the credibility of this commitment.
ISO 14001 Environmental Management
For more than 10 years, we have held IOS 14001 certification. This internationally recognised standard validates our environmental management system, ensuring we systematically:
Identify and manage environmental risks
Reduce environmental impacts across operations
Improve resource efficiency
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation
ISO 14001 supports continuous improvement, embedding sustainability into everyday decision-making rather than treating it as a standalone initiative.
Looking Ahead to Net Zero
Brand iQ’s Net Zero journey is ongoing. By combining robust management, responsible sourcing, certified environmental management systems and trusted partners like Ecologi, we are building a credible pathway toward reducing our environmental impact while supporting our customers’ and our own sustainability goals.
